School Spirit, The Adidas Way

I really couldn't pass up on this one. I'm a sucker for Adidas apparel, especially if my school is on it. I think it's for a local version of the
Basketball Is A Brotherhood campaign. It features La Salle and rival school Ateneo. There are shirts, caps, and several kinds of jackets. I got the game jacket. I was actually one of the first to grab this item, they were just unloading the goods when I passed by their store.

Excluding my PE uniform back in the day, this is the first time i bought clothing with "La Salle" written on it. I always wanted to buy something La Salle, may it be a jacket, shirt, or something else. Now that Adidas is sponsoring the Green Archers, I guess it's time to join the bandwagon.

I really like the jacket, well maybe except for two things. First, like most Adidas gear, it's quite pricey. Second is the weird "Asian size". I'm usually an M, but for this one, i got it in XL, and the fit really feels awkward, at least for me. I had a hard time choosing the right size. But I'm still happy with it.

Now all I need is a ticket for Sunday's game.

Jhenpot's Adventures And Misadventures

Jhen circa 2007

My friend Jhen always had a blog, but I never got to check it back then. Luckily, she was inspired to revive it (you're welcome, hehe) and provide us more of her adventures and misadventures in this thing we call life.

Check it out at reignebow.blogspot.com, I'm sure it's a good read.

Green = Victory

I know it's been days since the Celtics won, and I'm not really an avid fan, but hey, thanks to them I may become Php500.00 richer.

I hope this "Green Fever" continues in the
UAAP (which starts July 5), as the Green Archers try to defend their crown.

Frank Ruined My Weekend

Image taken from Typhoon2000.

We were supposed to go back to Intramuros today, since our last visit there had some drawbacks. But Typhoon Frank was a bigger upset to our campaign, it's probably the first real storm to hit Manila this year. Our garage was actually flooded this afternoon.

And around the country, Frank is causing more trouble, even sank a commercial vessel (with around 700 people aboard). So sad.

I Want A Pick-Up

With the rising price of petrol, I really want to ditch my Toyota Rav4, since I only get around 6.3km/L. I spend around PHP350.00 for an average trip to the office and back home.

But I like my Rav4, I'm not intimidated by floods and bumpy roads (very common in Manila), and I can use it to haul stuff (like baggages, big ones).

So now I'm looking at pick-up trucks. At an average price of one million pesos, it's the same price as a high-end compact sedan, but more economical. I especially like the Nissan Frontier Navara and the Isuzu Global D-MAX, because they seem to be the best bang-for-the-buck among pick-ups.

Now all I need is additional funds to get my hands on one of these babies.

Off-topic, I'm blogging right now while waiting for Roxanne, using an unknown WiFi signal here at Rufino Tower in Makati. Whoever is supplying this signal, thank you very much. I only have nine minutes of battery life left, so I have to go now.

Old Manila

I was checking out the blog of Carlos Celdran, Manila's most prominent tourguide, and saw a post depicting videos of old Manila.

My God, Manila was so prestine back then, it makes me sad about the current state of my home city.

The first two videos are the same ones from
his blog entry, while the rest are other videos of old Manila that I found on Youtube.

Wireless Blogging

Just got myself a
Cd-r King Wireless Router this afternoon. Now I can blog from anywhere inside our house (even during nature calls).

Macro Attempts

I haven't seen Kung Fu Panda yet, but the main character is just so adorable that I had to get one from McDonald's (as part of their Happy Meal). Turns out this toy inspired me to shoot some macro.

I don't have a good macro setup, basically I just rely on my G5 (since I don't have a dedicated macro lens for my 400D), an old desk lamp, and the LED of my old K750i. I actually took pictures of this rig, but decided not to post them since I think I can still do some improvements on my work.

Anyway, you can check the rest of the gallery here. Pardon me if they're not the best, I'm still learning.

Mini Turtle

Writing source codes suck, and this little resin turtle kept me company last Thursday. Just one of those weird things that I want to share.
